Open Question: Anyone familiar with pixelmator?

I just purchased it and I am a newbie so I am not expecting to be doing billboard material anytime soon, however it seems very difficult to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. I know how to crop, change brightness, hue etc. But I want to get a bit more into it and cannot find ANY beginners tutorials. I am looking for tutorials that treat you as if you have never used this program before. All of the ones I have looked seem so advanced.
